Sinead McQuaid - Manager

Sinead has recently been appointed to the position of Manager of Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Sinead is involved in supporting childcare projects throughout the county, working collaboratively with other agencies, securing support for the provision of quality resources, strategic planning in relation to the Early Childhood Care & Education sector in county Roscommon and input into social policy that impacts childcare and its stakeholders. Sinead leads a multi disciplinary team in the delivery of national childcare programmes at county level. Sinead represents the company on a county, regional and national basis and fosters a culture of advocating for children’s rights. Sinead has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Care and Education from Sligo Institute of Technology and has extensive experience in working within the Early Childhood sector both at development and management level.

Martina Towey - Administrator

Martina is the financial Administrator with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Martina has been with the Company since 2006 and is very familiar with the financial operation of the Company. Martina’s role includes the preparation of financial reports for the Board of Directors and financial returns to our funders and she also provides administrative and secretarial support to the RCCC Manager and Board of Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Martina has a Diploma in Business Studies, is an IPASS Certified Payroll Technician and also has a Level 7 Certificate in Psychology from Maynooth University.

Childcare Development Officers (CDO’s)

The role of Childcare Development Officer is to assist the RCCC Manager in implementing the Roscommon County Childcare Committee’s (RCCC) Annual Local Implementation Plan/Statement of Work  through yearly assigned actions and to assist with the ongoing development of quality Early Childhood Care & Education services for  county Roscommon, including the implementation of Síolta and Aistear. The CDO’s support all Early Childhood Care & Education services through local and national initiatives in line with Department of Children, Diversity and Equality (DCDE) policy while providing a comprehensive support and advisory service to Childcare Providers and parents/families.

Sinéad Chapman - Childcare Development Officer

Sinéad has recently been appointed to the role of Childcare Development Officer with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Sinead comes with extensive experience in the early childcare sector and most recently worked with Pobal, as part of their Better Start Quality team. Sinead has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Care and Education from Athlone Technological University.

Sylvia Murphy - Childcare Development Office

Sylvia has recently been appointed to the role of Childcare Development Officer with Roscommon County Childcare Committee. Sylvia brings managerial knowledge from her work in the Early Childhood sector. Sylvia has a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Early Childhood Studies along with a Level 7 Certificate in Psychology from Maynooth University.

Childminding Development Officer/Project Officer (CMDO/PO)

The role of Childminding Development Officer/Project Officer (CMDO/PO) is to assist the RCCC Manager in implementing the Roscommon County Childcare Committee’s (RCCC) Annual Local Implementation Plan/Statement of Work  through yearly assigned actions and to assist with the ongoing development of quality Early Childhood Care & Education services for  County Roscommon, including the implementation of the National Action Plan for Childminders 2021-2028. The CMDO/PO will support existing and potential childminders to deliver a high-quality early learning and care and/or school age service to meet the requirements of individual children, families and communities.

Maria - Childminding Development Officer

Maria holds a Level 8 (Honours) Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care from the University of East London. She joined our team in 2023, bringing with her a wealth of experience in early years education. Prior to joining us, Maria worked as a manager and earlier in her career as an early years educator, giving her a deep understanding of both leadership and hands-on teaching in early childhood settings.
